The Story
Some moments last only minutes. Others stay with us for a lifetime. At sixty, successful businessman Andy Scott is preparing to retire when a passing snowstorm awakens the memory of a December night forty-four years earlier—a night spent with Laura Worthington, a teenage girl who once told him she had always had a crush on him.

It was only a few hours in a long life.

Just a grain of sand in the hourglass of his life.

But Andy never forgot it. When he discovers that Laura died years earlier, the memory becomes something more than nostalgia. Andy travels back to Maryland searching for closure and encounters a mysterious stranger who offers him something impossible: a chance to return to that night.

Not to reclaim the girl.

Not to rewrite the life that eventually gave him a wife he loves, children, grandchildren, and a future he would never willingly surrender.

But perhaps to change one thing.

To warn Laura.

What follows becomes a story not simply about changing the past, but about understanding the life we have already lived—and discovering that a wrong turn is not necessarily the same thing as a wrong life.

Logline
When a retiring businessman learns that the teenage girl with whom he once shared an unforgettable snowy night died years earlier, a mysterious stranger gives him one impossible chance to return to that night—not to reclaim a lost love, but to save her life without sacrificing the wife, children, and future he treasures.

More Than a Love Story
The Sound of Falling Snow is not a story about a man trying to recover the woman he should have married.

Andy doesn't want another life.

He wants his. Laura and Andy ultimately build separate lives, find the people they are meant to share those lives with, and raise families of their own. What survives between them is something smaller—and perhaps more meaningful: the memory of one beautiful night that mattered to both of them.

Through Andy's journey, the story explores memory, regret, aging, family, faith, grief, second chances, and the seemingly insignificant moments that quietly shape a lifetime.

The Hourglass
Time becomes one of the film's central visual themes.

Andy initially sees an hourglass as a measure of everything already gone. Over the course of his journey, he learns to see the same hourglass differently—not as time lost, but as time remaining.

And one seemingly insignificant night from his youth?

A single grain of sand. Sometimes one grain is enough to matter.

A Christmas Film With a Different Kind of Second Chance
Set against Christmas in the Blue Ridge Mountains, Maryland and Tennessee, The Sound of Falling Snow combines an emotionally grounded family drama with restrained magical realism.

At its heart is a simple question:

If you were given one chance to change the past, would you change your own life—or use the gift to change someone else's?
