A picture is worth.....the right time, right place, right memory.....it's priceless
Photography
I love photography and shoot a lot of pictures of the moon and aviation, but I also have a diversified portfolio of nature and landscape shots. Photographs are a way to capture and memorialize moments in our lives. Some may be as simple as a cloud in the sky or a leaf floating in a stream. At that moment, they had an impact on us that we longed to hold on to and share.
There are two cameras in my arsenal that I have with me on most occasions looking for that “perfect” shot. One is a point and shoot, the other a DSLR. My Canon point and shoot is a remarkable camera for its telephoto capabilities. I have taken some fantastic shots that always bring questions like “what type of camera, lens, or telescope did you use.” The answer, none. The incredible 30x optical zoom on that lens makes it perfect for long-range shooting like the moon, rocket launches, sporting events, and other distance shots. It has advanced its zoom power quite a bit since bought this one, but still a reliable and handy camera.
The point and shoot has its trade-offs. Speed on action shots, but it makes one focus on quality and timing. You quickly learn to shoot around those shortcomings and, in turn, become more selective and skilled with the shots you take. My DSLR is used for everything else: landscapes, portraits, close-up action shots, and airshows, but primarily nature and landscapes.
