I have had the good fortune to have been born at a time where no human had ever left the boundaries of Earth and made it to space. The Space Race as it is known today was an exciting and captivating period in our history and I am glad to have seen and felt what it is was like first hand. Today, I want to keep the passion I felt for spaceflight then and now alive by researching and writing about the history of the space program. my blog, “The Conquest of Space” is a mix of the little known aspects of human spaceflight and the history of the space program with an commentary on the current state of space programs around the world.

The blog is read by space and history fans all over the planet. Aside from the United States, I have numerous readers from China, Ukraine, Russia, Israel, Japan, Germany, France, and Canada to name a few. In addition to personal reflection of having lived through the period and an extensive library of NASA and contractor data, I enjoy collecting historical books and periodicals from the golden age of spaceflight. It is one perspective to write about history looking in the rear view mirror, it is another to look at documentation at the time that captures the moment without seeing what triumphs and tragedies lie ahead.
